Good Baby?
As many of you know, Brooke's first six weeks were less than perfect. Yes, she was a beautiful newborn baby. But as I told most people during those first six weeks: if Brooke was awake, she was crying. All of my neighbors have commented on how much they have seen me outside walking Brooke. And when I would stop to talk to any of them, Brooke would go from peaceful sleep to loud crying. And, Bryan spent many nights walking Brooke around the block in the baby Bjorn - once even in the snow.
Over the past few weeks, Brooke has changed into a happy baby who cries at more normal, predictable intervals. So, my confidence being up, I decided to take Brooke to the PX on post. Now, our last trip was not very successful: she cried the whole way over. I put her in the stroller and walked her around the parking lot for 10 minutes while she continued to cry. I finally gave up and headed home without ever setting foot in the store.
This trip was much smoother. Brooke was good in the car, slept in the carseat during most of the shopping trip, and when she woke up she just looked around (which was the case as we checked out). And the best part of the whole trip was that the cashier actually commented on what a good baby I had!
