On Tuesday, Brooke had her 4 month check-up. She is doing great. She weighed in at 14lbs 15oz. (75th percentile) and was 25.5 inches long (90th percentile).

Brooke received another round of shots, which really put her into hysterics. On the plus side, they made her really drowsy. She slept most of the day yesterday which was great since she missed out on a lot of sleep while we were in Oregon.

The only negative is that the doctor recommended that I go off dairy completely to see if it helps with Brooke's gas. For those of you who haven't been around Brooke lately, her real trademark is her gas. It puts any grown man to shame which makes diaper changing pretty risky. So, I am off dairy for a week as test. Then, there are a few other foods to try. If that doesn't work, we just have to live with our gassy baby!

Upon flying back to the Northwest, Brooke and I drove straight from the airport to my sister and brother-in-law's house. Bryan met us down there for the long weekend. It turned out to be quite an eventful weekend as my sister had her baby, Liam, on Sunday night - 5 weeks early. We were glad to be able to help with Megan and get to see their little one.

Brooke has already inherited one of my bad habits - sucking her thumb. I can say without a doubt that this comes from me. I sucked my thumb until I was 5 and it pains me to see Brooke sucking her thumb. In fact, she is so intent on it that sometimes she sucks both thumbs at once. I have even seen her with two thumbs and two forefingers in her mouth all at one time!

On Feb 6th, I took Brooke on her first plane ride - a one and half hour flight down to Sacramento to see my parents while Bryan was in the field. I had everything all planned out so that Brooke would nap on the plane. Unfortunately, our plane was delayed an hour, so Brooke ended up taking her nap in the airport. She did fine on the flight, though.

Our first night in California, Brooke got to meet her great Aunt and Uncle. Carol and Bruce drove over from San Francisco after their visit with Ed, Sheila, and Caroline.

We also managed to fit in some time in the spa:

And Brooke had her inaugural golf cart ride. My parents have a "hobby" of riding around the neighborhood in their golf cart looking at houses and gardens while enjoying cocktail hour. Brooke didn't get any cocktails, but she enjoyed the ride.

Brooke's cousin, Megan reportedly likes to play computer and to "check the e-mail." In an effort to keep up with her cousin, we have been giving Brooke her computer time, too!
