Reality Check
Today was the Color Casing Ceremony for Bryan's Squadron. The ceremony involves folding up and encasing the Squadron and Troop flags to be sent to Iraq where they will be uncased upon the Squadron's arrival.

It was a short ceremony, but it hit home that this deployment is really happening. No more denying it. We are trying to spend as much family time together as possible, but I constantly think about the separation. The thought of Bryan being apart from Brooke (and me) for more than a year just breaks my heart. Her face lights up every time he comes home and usually she gives a little squeal of delight.
