Last weekend, the Smiths came to visit. Brooke enjoyed the time with her cousins. She especially loved the game of "try to grab Liam's face while no one is looking." She is very curious about babies and has no fear.

On Saturday, we took the kids to the pool. It was a lot of fun for all - except maybe Liam who was banished to his infant carrier on the side of the pool. I was totally amazed that he just sat there without fussing. Seeing Liam makes me realize just how difficult Brooke really was!

Uncle Mac installed two baby gates. It has been great for me, but has put a bit of a damper on Brooke's freedom.

After our Las Vegas trip, Brooke and I drove with my parents down to Southern California. Brooke got to meet her great Grandpa Siechert for the first time.

The women got involved in a jewelry sorting project that took up the better part of a day.

But not to worry, Brooke was in great hands being watched by Grandpa Dick and Great Uncle Bruce:

We spent one evening swimming and hanging out at Carl and Jan's.

Then we headed up to Sacramento to spend a week at my parents' house. Brooke did a great job in the car. I had been so worried that I originally thought about buying a plane ticket to fly up there. But Brooke barely cried at all. It helped that I was in the back seat with her.

Brooke enjoyed spending time with her grandparents, swimming in the hot tub, and honing those standing skills.

"I love my grandma."

"Who is this guy and what kind of crazy nonsense is he trying to teach me?"

Yes, she used the power cord to pull herself up. Very safe...I know.

But most of all, we just enjoyed being in the California sunshine!

In Vegas, we learned that Brooke is a celebrity look alike....well, kind of. My friends thought Brooke looked just like Shiloh Jolie Pitt. And then, my mom had Brooke at the pool and a woman came up to her and told her how much Brooke looked like Shiloh and that she had just been wondering if maybe my mom was Brad Pitt's mom. What a trip! Anyway, judge for yourself:

On the 4th of July, Brooke and I flew to Las Vegas to see my college friends for Lynn's bachelorette weekend. My parents met us there to babysit.

We enjoyed spending time at the pool - especially since Vegas was seeing record temps of 115.

Brooke attended her first lingerie shower.

And thankfully, my parents did some babysitting so I could spent some much needed time out with the girls.
