Yesterday, we had a snow day. In truth, it was a snow half-day. Around noon, it started raining and all the snow was gone by mid afternoon. In any case, we had a great couple hours in the snow. And, Brooke got to model her snowsuit. Luckily, I think it will still fit her next year. Let's hope for more snow.
As mentioned in my last entry, we spent part of last week in Salem visiting the Smiths for Megan's birthday. I think this was the first 3 year old birthday party I attended (as an adult).

Last week, Brooke and I went down to Oregon. We spent two nights with the Maunu family and then headed down to Salem for Megan's birthday celebration. While we were there, Brooke had a lot of fun with the kitties, Zeus and Dante. Brooke eloquently demonstrated her knowledge of the word, "meow." Actually, it usually came out as "Be-ah" and Megan had fun imitating her. One afternoon I caught Brooke on the prowl:
Over the summer, I posted and entry about Brooke's friend, Zoe. Since then, Brooke has become even more enamored with Zoe. Here they are on a recent night at our house:
Brooke learned to climb in and out of her exersaucer. (Not something I'm very happy about, but we'll just add it to the list of dangerous things Brooke does each day). Ultimately, I outsmarted her and lent it to friends so their son could use it for a few months.
As most of you know, January is gray and rainy here in Washington. This prevents us from spending as much time outside as we would like, so we have to improvise. Here is what we have been up to the past few weeks:
Indoor rafting
Playing "mitten foot"
Sneaking in tastes of Mommy's lotion
Playing "pens" (one of Brooke's favorite games in which she takes each pen out of the canister and then scatters them all around the living room floor).
Playing in the sandbox
Riding a package of diapers to save the world with dustpan in hand!
Rearranging the fridge (notice the condiments lined up along the bottom shelf)
Brooke has also perfected peek-a-boo. She will empty a drawer or the dryer and play peek-a-boo with each item as she pulls it out. It gets pretty funny when she has a bra wrapped around her head!
