Humpty-Dumpty Had a Great Fall

Yesterday, Brooke had another run in with the pavement: She stood up in her stroller and pushed it to the ground landing face first on the pavement. The worst of the damage was actually done by her teeth. She bit her lip inside and out.

Double-take with the Smiths

Brooke and I spent the last two weekends with the Smiths. The first weekend was here at our house. On Saturday, we had the kids out enjoying the sunshine and warm weather.

On Sunday, Pam ran the Olympia marathon (the real purpose for the visit) while Mac and I took the kids to a local park.

And Megan and Brooke practiced their "running."

Last week, Brooke and I spent Thursday night to Monday with Smiths. On Friday, we took the kids to a local Fairy Tale theme park. The weather was very typical of the Pacific Northwest. We left after 1.5 hours when the kids were tired and freezing.

Parenting Blues

Now that Bryan is gone again, I am back to my lackadaisical parenting style.

R & R

Bryan was just home for his 18 days of R&R. We had a great time being a family again. Brooke quickly became attached to Bryan and woke up each morning calling "Daddy, Daddy." During Bryan's stay we did quite a few things around here - the zoo, hiking, play park, etc. But most importantly, we just spent time together as a family.

We decided to leave the cold weather for a week to spend some time in sunny San Diego. We spent the first day visiting my Grandpa in Fullerton.

Then it was on to Camp Pendleton to stay at their beach cottages. The location was great - right on the beach and next to a great playground.
Brooke loved playing in the sand...

And swimming...

Brooke was up at 6:30 a.m. asking to go outside and she didn't want to come in even when she exhausted and covered in sand.
